Thought of the Day: Are You Ready for the Best Days of the Year?
SubḥānAllāh! Every thought Ustazah shared throughout this course felt like a treat before the main course. However, one reflection from Lesson #8 has stayed with me for days and continues to occupy my thoughts: How do we prepare ourselves in advance to make the most of the best days of the year?
Ustazah shared two powerful examples.
The first was about a German man who spent months preparing for a competition where participants had only 150 seconds (2½ minutes) to carry away as many valuable items as possible. His preparation made all the difference.
The second was about a wise elderly woman. A king opened his treasury and invited the people to take whatever they could carry. Most people rushed in, grabbing whatever they could. But the old woman did something different. She took her time, looked around, walked straight to the king, placed her hand on him, and said, "I choose you."
By choosing the king, she gained not only the king himself, but everything that belonged to his kingdom.
That story made me stop and reflect.
	•		• 	Am I truly ready to take advantage of these blessed days?
	•		• 	If these are the days Allah ﷻ loves the most, how will I show Him that I love Him?
I want to approach these blessed days like that wise woman. I do not only want to ask Allah ﷻ for His gifts—I want to seek Allah Himself. When Allah is pleased with me, every blessing follows.
My Plan for the Day of Arafah
	•		• 	Write down my du'as in advance.
	•		• 	Sleep well the night before.
	•		• 	Fast on the Day of Arafah.
	•		• 	Manage my time wisely.
	•		• 	Avoid exhausting myself so I can worship with focus, sincerity, and presence.
	•		• 	Fill the day with abundant du'a, dhikr, istighfār, and reflection.
Allah ﷻ is inviting us to ask Him.
Ask Him for forgiveness.
Ask Him for guidance.
Ask Him for rizq.
Ask Him for Jannah.
Be like a beggar at the door of the Most Generous. A beggar does not ask once and walk away. They keep asking because they know the One they are asking is able to give beyond measure.
May Allah ﷻ allow us to make the most of these blessed days, accept our worship, forgive our sins, and grant us Jannat al-Firdaws. Āmīn.
